Onno van Commenée appointed to drive next phase of growth

Amsterdam, October 21, 2025 – Motopp, the organization that trains highly educated newcomers to become skilled IT professionals and connects them with leading Dutch employers, today announced the appointment of Onno van Commenée as its new CEO. With this step, Motopp marks the beginning of a new phase of growth and expansion.

Since its founding in 2020, Motopp has proven that its model works – through a combination of rigorous selection, intensive training, and ongoing coaching, newcomers are empowered to deliver immediate value to employers and to Dutch society as a whole.
“We’ve shown over the past few years that it can be done: highly educated and motivated newcomers contributing at their level, with real perspective for the future. Now it’s time for the next step. Onno brings the experience we need to make that happen,” said co-founder Jan Princen.

Growth target: 1,000 Motoppers

Van Commenée’s appointment marks the start of a new growth phase. Under his leadership, Motopp aims to scale up to at least 1,000 placements across public and private organizations in the Netherlands. Quality will remain the guiding principle: a 95% conversion rate to permanent employment continues to be the benchmark for every placement. The combination of carefully selected, highly educated newcomers—often with over 10 years of IT experience—along with intensive traineeships and weekly coaching, ensures consistently high outcomes.
“I’ve always been committed to helping people who face barriers to employment. Work provides connection, belonging, and the opportunity to fully participate in society. At Motopp, we’re building a labor market where everyone gets a fair chance, feels at home, and can move forward,” said Onno van Commenée.

Scaling experience

Van Commenée brings extensive experience in building and scaling organizations, particularly within the staffing and recruitment industry, as well as in initiatives supporting people distanced from the labor market. His combination of strategic insight and entrepreneurial drive aligns perfectly with Motopp’s ambitions.

Strengthening partnerships and exploring new models

In the coming period, the focus will be on expanding Motopp’s impact through growth within existing partnerships while exploring how the Motopp model can be applied more broadly — for example, in sectors where newcomers are still underrepresented, through tailor-made programs within large organizations, and in new regions or funding models.

Jan Princen continues as Motopp’s ambassador

With Van Commenée’s arrival, co-founder Jan Princen will focus fully on his role as Motopp’s strategic ambassador, sharing Motopp’s story and nurturing relationships with existing and new partners.
