Do you have questions?

The background and reason for choosing a guided path to a new job in the world of Finance is different for each newcomer. Check out the most frequently asked questions here.

In Finance, knowledge of regulations and their interpretation is very important. Think about tax rules, claims handling for insurers and customers and pension law. We understand that there are still some hurdles to overcome to use your skills in a Dutch company. That is exactly what we focus on. Once you have passed our selection procedure, we will work on your basic skills and train all the new professional skills needed to get started in Finance.

For you as a status holder, nothing at all. We pay for your training and reimburse your travel expenses. Most of the time, you follow the training courses remotely, from your own home workplace. Once a week, you come to our office in Amsterdam for a joint workshop with other Motoppers. When we have matched you with an employer after the training programme, you will, of course, be able to take up paid work.

We understand that you have questions about how we handle your data. We only collect anonymised data online. When we ask you to fill in a form and leave data, we do so on a platform where we have observed security measures. Your data will never be shared to third parties without permission. At Motopp, we do not look at where you come from, but where you want to go and what affinity you have with Finance or its legal aspects. In your cover letter, explain why we should start this process with you. We will contact you about the follow-up process.

This can vary depending on the complexity of what is being trained. You should take into account an average duration of 3 to 6 months. In this, we pay attention to interpersonal skills, such as presentation technique, collaboration (agile/scrum), language skills and cultural integration, and there are then intensive workshops to learn professional skills.

This depends largely on you. We ask maximum commitment from you. But you also get an awful lot in return. Once you have successfully completed your Finance training, and we have selected you to be matched with an employer, it is almost certain that you will be able to start work. If a match does not come about (which does not happen often), we will make every effort to find you another client.

If there really is no match between you and the client (which is rare), we will look for another opportunity.

Once you are matched for a job, you will receive an employment contract and join Motopp. From Motopp, you will be seconded to your regular client. This is usually for a period of 12 months. It ensures that you get a basic salary, can get out of your benefit situation, build up a pension, are insured for illness and are entitled to the regular employment safety net in the Netherlands. After 12 months, 95% of all our Motoppers are offered an extension with their client. We guide the transition so that you get a good start.

The training programme requires you to be able to invest 5 working days a week. If you are selected, we will inform you no later than one month before the training starts. If you find yourself in a tight spot caring for children or sick parents, discuss your options at home and don’t hesitate to consult us about possible solutions. It will be intensive, but don’t forget that it also gives you a great opportunity. Really can’t make it, but will you be available in a while? Anyway, let us know you’re interested or come back here in a while.

It sometimes happens, there is still discussion about your residence status or a child, parent or partner suddenly gets ill. If you are in a training programme with us, we feel committed to you. Share it with us and we will try to think with you about a solution. Of course, we cannot influence all situations, but thinking about it together can sometimes still lead to a solution. Even if that means putting the process ‘on hold’ for a while.
