The background and reason for choosing a guided path to a new job in IT is different for each newcomer. Check out the most frequently asked questions here.

That you already have the necessary skills is great. You may also have already obtained the necessary certificates or even completed IT-related training in your country of origin. You will probably recognise that finding a job is not yet so easy as a status holder. Employers worry about your gap in the language, your motivation, your understanding of Dutch business culture. That is exactly what we are going to solve for you. If you are selected by us, you will enter an intensive guidance programme, where we are going to help you solve obstacles and cash in on that IT job opportunity.

For you as a status holder, nothing at all. We pay for your IT-Career training courses and reimburse your travel expenses. Most of the time, you follow the training courses ‘remotely’, from your own home workplace. Once a week, you come to our office in Amsterdam for a joint workshop with other Motoppers. When we have matched you with an employer after the training programme, you will, of course, be able to take up paid work.

We understand that you are extra vigilant about the safety of you and your family. We collect data online only anonymously. When we ask you to fill in a form and leave data, we do so on a platform where we have observed security measures. Your data will never be shared to third parties without permission. See our privacy statement, with more detail on how we handle your data.

At Motopp, we don’t look at where you come from, but where you want to go and what affinity you have with IT. In your cover letter, substantiate why we should invest in you. If you are selected for IT-Career training courses, we will use assessments to test whether you have the right basis to continue in the programme. If there is no match, see if our low-code developer training is something for you. For this, you do not necessarily need programming knowledge. We also sometimes offer other types of training, such as in the field of finance, which also involves your soft skills.

This can vary depending on the difficulty of what is being trained. You should take into account an average duration of 3 to 6 months. In it, we pay attention to interpersonal skills, such as presentation technique, collaboration (agile/scrum), language skills and cultural integration, and there are then intensive workshops to learn professional skills.

This depends mostly on you. We require maximum commitment from you throughout the entire process. But you also get an awful lot in return. Once you have successfully completed your training, and we have selected you to be matched with a client, it is almost certain that you will be able to start work. However, if no match is achieved (which does not happen often), we will make every effort to find you another employer.

If there really is no match between you and the client (which doesn’t happen very often), we will look for another opportunity.

Once you are matched for work, you will be given an employment contract and join Motopp. From Motopp, you will be assigned for your IT job with your permanent client. This is often for a period of 12 months. It ensures that you get a basic salary, can get out of your benefit situation, build up a pension, are insured for illness and are entitled to the regular employment safety net in the Netherlands. After 18 months, 95% of all our Motoppers are offered an extension with their client. We guide the transition so that you get there well.

The training programme requires you to be available full-time. If you are selected, we will inform you no later than one month before the training starts. If you find yourself caught up in caring for children or sick parents, discuss your options at home and don’t hesitate to consult us about possible solutions. It will be intensive, but don’t forget that it also gives you a great opportunity. Really can’t make it, but will you be available in a while? Anyway, let us know you’re interested or come back here in a while.

It happens sometimes, beyond your control. If you are in a training programme with us, we feel committed to you. Share it with us and we will try to think with you about a solution. Of course, we cannot influence every situation, but thinking about it together can sometimes still lead to a solution. Even if that means putting the process ‘on hold’ for a while.
